Panel "MIRADOR DEL PORTILLO" (English)

The exposure of this limestone formation to the erosion of the water from Andaluz river has been opening cracks and caves that have originated this rocky gorge of about 100 meters high.

It is the ideal place for the life of the griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus) of which more than 30 couples are counted. He is also accompanied by other less common species such as the Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus) or the eagle owl (Bubo bubo).

In some caves of El Risco, calcite crystals are observed.
